Jessica Lydiard

Jess enjoys strong medical and patient referral based on her patient outcomes in the areas of chronic pain (particularly assisting people who endure chronic spinal pain, headaches and migraines), musculoskeletal, orthopaedic and respiratory physio. She also enjoys working with women during and after pregnancy and dancers at all levels.

 

In addition to her private practice, Jess has gained her breadth of experience through working with the Gold Coast Hospital Orthopaedic Outpatient department, the Hinterland District Netball Association and whilst consulting with members of the Gold Coast Hospital Orthopaedic team at the Cherbourg Community Health Service. 

Thorough assessment and treatment tailored to individual goals underpins her management philosophy and her services reflect her passion for assisting people who want to better understand their body and improve their health and quality of life. Jess is committed to providing exceptional care to her patients and this has seen her invest extensively in ongoing professional development.

Her interest in human movement analysis and performance has seen her complete further training in Pilates (having gained advanced certification in both equipment and matwork pilates through the respected Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates institute [APPI]) and the Feldenkrais Method (having completed 4 segments of the Feldenkrais professional training program). As a previous National level athlete, Jess also has personal and professional insight into physical performance and loves helping people of all abilities to experience the joy of effortless movement.

Jess has attended and gained recognised competency through an exam-based course in Vestibular Rehabilitation conducted by Susan Herdman. Vestibular rehabilitation refers to the management of conditions including (but not limited to) BPPV, vestibular neuritis, labyrinthitis, Meniere’s, migraines, traumatic brain injury and post-concussion syndrome and other neurological disorders. Jess’ knowledge and access to assessment tools (infra-red video technology) allow her to provide a more thorough vestibular assessment, informed diagnosis and therefore, appropriate management plan.

Jess offers accommodating physiotherapy appointments (before / after hours) and individually-tailored physiotherapy exercise classes. Couples physiotherapy exercise classes are also available upon request. 

You do not require a doctor’s referral. DVA, WorkCover, Chronic Disease Management Plans (Medicare) accepted, HICAPS facilities available for ease of private billing. Physiotherapy exercise classes are eligible for private health rebate as sessions are run by a Physio.
